Web 2.0 Causes A Spike In Collaboration Job Opportunities

,,,,

Recently I noticed how many collaboration job openings were being posted by enterprise vendors seeking experienced product managers.  BEA, Sun, Microsoft, Xerox, Interwoven, Open Text, Webex, and many start-ups were all looking for at least one product manager with web 2.0 experience.  In some cases there were as many 3-5 openinings at the same company. After some further investigation, the increase in job postings was not only attributed to market growth, but to previous product managers leaving to focus on a Web 2.0 start-ups. Some times the whole product management team would end up leaving. The knowledge drain for sure will impact many product roadmaps and strategies. Collaboration companis are desperate for talent.  So if you are looking for a new job in product management, then you should look at companies who have a focus on collaboration technologies. If you are experienced in the collaboration industry, send me your picture and bio and I would like to post it in our experts section.   Best of luck!
